This historical map illustrates the incredible 160 mile ride made by John H. Tunstall during the last 48 hours of his life. Pressured by conflict wtih Jimmy Dolan, Tunstall set out to find help from John Chisum at his ranch near Roswell. Failing that, Tunstall rode to his own ranch, where he was joined by Billy the Kid, Dick Brewer and other men who would soon call themselves The Regulators. Tunstall was pursued by Dolan's hand-picked posse and gunned down just miles before completing his round-trip back to Lincoln.
